Later on we dipped down to the Tamar river at Horse Bridge where we managed to find the Devon border which was a sight for sore eyes. We then continued to beast through the local villages and hills despite feeling like the walking dead.
We rejoiced when we discovered we had 7 miles left to go and I commented on how we had managed to miss the rain all day only for it to pour torrentially on us for the next ten minutes. The rain was so heavy it was running like a river down the hills!
The good news is despite my fantastic map reading, today was only 51 miles! I think we must have taken the shorter but hillier route! Average of 10.2mph!

You never were very good at map reading, but in this case it might have been that you were very good at map reading.
